Laddsworth pupils achieve Karate Grading

Laddsworth pupils Jamie Humphrey, Grade 3 and Thomas Erasmus, Grade 5 achieved their Kimura Shukokai Karate grading on Sunday 7 April in Howick. Thomas achieved his Orange Belt in 7th Kyu Grade and Jamie achieved his Yellow Belt in Junior 8th Kyu Grade.

 

Laddsworth Swimathon 2019

Laddsworth Primary School hosted a Swimathon Fundraiser during the course of the first term. Pupils had lots of fun and were challenged to swim as many widths (Junior Primary pupils) or lengths (Senior Primary pupils) of their school swimming pool as they were able to in 30 minutes. The challenge took take place during Physical Education lessons. The record was 74 lengths, which works out to 1850m in less than 30 minutes.

Laddsworth Primary School would like to congratulate their pupils on their fine efforts. The funds raised from this event will be used to further develop the school facilities.

 

Laddsworth Cricket Stars

Laddsworth Cricket players put in an excellent performance against Athlone Primary School on Saturday 2 March 2019.
Samuel Bishop (Grade 4) made 52 runs not out in the under 10A match.
Dax Jursa (Grade 6) made 66 runs not out in the under 11A match.
Marthinus Erasmus (Grade 7) took 5 wickets for 5 runs in the First Team match.
The boys each received a cricket ball for their fine efforts.

 

KwaZulu-Natal Regional Irish Dancing Competition

Laddsworth Grade One pupil, Alison Rennie participated in the KwaZulu-Natal Regional Irish Dance Competition in Pinetown on Saturday 9 March 2019. Alison took part in the Under 7 Category and won Gold in the Light Jig Dance, Silver in the Reel Dance and Silver in the Single Jig Dance.

 

Laddsworth receives sponsored Rugby kit from the Fury Motor Group

Laddsworth Primary School's First XV Rugby team has been sponsored by The Fury Motor Group for the seventh successive year. Mr Morné du Plessis, Sales Manager at Fury Honda Pietermaritzburg, handed over the sponsored rugby kit on Friday 8 March 2019. Laddsworth would like to thank the Fury Motor Group for their continued support.

 

Motocross Champ

Laddsworth Grade 7 pupil, Cuan Conway took part in the first of 6 Motocross Nationals in Port Elizabeth on the weekend of 2 March 2019. Cuan was the top KwaZulu-Natal motocross rider at the event and was placed 9th overall. Well done Cuan and we wish you all the best for the next National Championship, which will be held in Cape Town.

 

Laddsworth Primary School turns 116 Years old

Laddsworth Primary School celebrated its 116th Birthday on Friday 1 March 2019. The school has proudly provided the Hilton Community with value-driven, quality education for the last 116 years. The whole school enjoyed cake in celebration of this wonderful milestone.

 

Umgungundlovu Tennis Team

Laddsworth Primary School pupils Caleb Cotton, Reuben Macfarlane, Adam Tilbury and Jodi Moreno were awarded their Midlands (Umgungundlovu) Tennis colours. They represented the Umgungundlovu Tennis Team at the KZN Inter-District Tournament in Durban from Friday, 22 to Sunday, 24 February 2019. Caleb was selected for the Under 13B team and Jodi was selected as a reserve.

 

Far North Cricket Team

Laddsworth pupils Colin Robertson, Marthinus Erasmus and Ryan McKean (Under 13), Matthew Bishop and Reuben MacFarlane (Under 12), have been selected for the Far North Cricket team. They will be taking part in the Midlands Cricket Trials at the Under 12 and Under 13 Central District Cricket (CDC) Festival at St Charles College in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday, 3 March 2019.

 

Umgungundlovu Athletics Team

Jonathan Werth, a Grade 7 pupil at Laddsworth Primary School, was selected to represent the Umgungundlovu Athletics Team at the District Provincial Selection Athletics Championship in Durban on Saturday 16 February 2019. Jonathan ran in the 1500m and came 4th.
