Each term Laddsworth has held an event to celebrate its 110th anniversary this year. The fourth term celebration took the form of an exhibition of artworks created by the pupils and a cocktail party at which three donated paintings were auctioned.
TO celebrate its 110th anniversary this year, Laddsworth Primary School in Hilton has held a commemorative event of some kind each term. To mark the start of Spring and celebrate the anniversary, the school recently planted 11 indigenous trees along the boundary of the sports field, once for each decade of the school's history.
Grade 7s at Laddsworth Primary School in Hilton have been presenting the play Bugsy Malone to appreciative audiences. Set in New York City in 1929, the musical recaptures the ambience of the Prohibition in the United States.
The Grade 6s recently went on a History field trip to the Mandela capture site and museum in Lion's River. In addition to completing work sheets, they were able to enjoy walking around the imposing sculpture and moving exhibition.
Three pupils from Laddsworth Primary School in Hilton have been selected to represent KwaZulu-Natal at the Athletics South Arica (ASA) championship in Potchefstroom later this month. They are, from left: Leah Kriel, James Bilbrough and Lauren Knobel.
